To make that happen, to create a timeless mac

To make that happen, to create a timeless machine for fast moving times, BMW has simplified its design language, with economy of line and sculpture. That means, when you look at this new Concept 8 Series, that you see sharpness and precision, and a startling sleekness through the way the design team has achieved light and shadow on the car’s exterior. If you look closely enough, you can even see the future.

Which was precisely what happened after a successful defence by the Swiss team Alinghi in 2007, when a challenge from a Spanish club was accepted and a protocol for the next America’s Cup, the 33rd, was hastily drawn up. When the details were released it was clear that the Spanish club had accepted rules that grossly favoured Alinghi.

Failing individual aspects of scrutineering is common in motorsports, as a engineer you always go into scrutineering knowing that if theres any detail you missed it will be picked up on so that you can correct it. As long as the scrutineers point it out and its fixed before the race starts everything good, no harm no foul. The Keating engineers would gone into scruinteering knowing that if they missed anything it be pointed out, would finished it confident that their car is legal, again with possible minor modifications, only to have the organisers turn around and say «actually we weren really paying attention last time so your disqualified, sorry better luck next year.» Its really soul crushing for the team.

Yeah I hear you on the handling, I actually had a chance to drive an i3 rex in Virginia, drove 30 MNS from DC to go see it. The place had a mix bag of reviews. It was a 2015 with 32000 miles with ACC and Park assist for $16998. Driving that thing was sweet, first ever EV driven, it felt very comfortable, the 10″ screen was huge, crisp, couldn get my eyes of it. Carvana is no all 5 stars rating but once again that 7 days is there for you to make them pay for any mechanical issue not stated, after all they charge you $2000 to $5000 above average.

«People who have a feel for a car get into an Alpina and instantly appreciate the steering reaction, the special suspension, the improved engine and so on but equally, people who don’t have that ‘feel’ tend to getin, drive for five miles and recognise that they are behind the wheel of something different,» says Andreas Bovensiepen, son of the founder and Alpina’s co owner and chief executive. «They feel that harmony.»

So I hate to do this because I tried to use this exact argument as to how it not so much Tesla leading the charge into a BEV future, but governments, but so far (unless something had changed in the past 6 months) none of those countries have any sort of signed and ratified legislation those dates are just promises/pledges. Maybe they will happen, maybe they won It likely depend on the feasibility of actually banning ICE/PHEV vehicles at the time. I suspect those who set 2025 dates will push those back. I suspect those who set 2040 dates might be ok. That said, 20 years of more PHEV and less pure ICE is absolutely a good step and absolutely part of the solutions.

My P100D had 2″ curb rash on one wheel, scuffs on the aluminum sill plate from shoes, scratches in the trunk plastic, tiny pinhead size ding on the trunk lid. I would put that kind of wear on it myself in a few miles so I didn bother to bring it up. $68,000 discount from original price, about $28 48k discount from current price since they lowered the prices in March and give L for free to current owners.

I had all the items reviewed while getting oil change. As I said, most are inspect items, not actual replacement. I excluded other things like brake fluid changes, air filter changes, suspension check\lubrication not because they don get done, but because they are NOT unique to ICE cars. Much of the inspect\consumables are still there for EVs. Motor oil is the big difference.

The issue is that some of the people who do abuse it are so incredibly blatant. They get away with more because they are actively scamming the system. It’s like a nerfarious version of what I do with airline miles. I find every program and loophole I can because it’s the only way I can afford to visit my family (and it’s legitimate). Because I am actively keep an eye on the programs and know all the rules/loopholes I get way more miles than most other folks who passively use the programs. I have personally known some welfare abusers and am sadly related to at least one. You’d think just by watching who brags, you could pick out the creeps. It seems most people don’t have the patience though. It’s a shame that there are people who use their benefits at casinos, resorts, in the Bahama, etc. Because it devalues the purpose of the system.

If you aren an asshole all the time, and are generally positive and a friendly player who doesn tilt and tries his best, reports do not matter for you. I have between a 9 10K behavior score at all times and when I have a bad game and make too many mistakes and my team decides that it my fault and I need to be reported, I couldn care any less.

First said Tesla couldn do it, Next they said no one wants it. Now they have to play catchup from a 10 year lead making them not able to make a competitive car. Honestly other EV makers should be over the moon they can sell any at all. Those poor customers don know how bad of a choice they made by not going with Tesla. For all other automakers the situation is dire and getting worse for them by the day.

We actually in Southern Ontario but in the snowbelt a couple of weeks ago all of the roads in our county were closed for a couple of days. We new here so it been quite a learning experience. DH says nearly everyone he works with owns an SUV/truck. At least they do get paid when there are snow days.

Are people savage or primitive if they survive and thrive without electronics, cars, grocery stores?People have been considered and called less than if they survive and thrive without electronics, stores, cars, clothes, basically all of the things that are so called progress. Just like when the battery in your ICE car it not dead enough to not run the radio but too dead start the car. This is a well documented failure mode. It seems the 12v battery is undersized, and BMW has taken a conservative line regarding the lowest voltage the controllers will attempt to «start the car» BMW also designed the car around having consistent access to 220V charging.

The 110v LVL1 charger is really only intended for occasional use (referred to as the OUC often.) If you have the means it highly recommended you get a LVL2 charger. It will allow you to precondition the battery as well as the cabin. Which is very helpful with range especially in extreme weather.

My children were 3 and 5 years old for their first rides. My bike had a backrest and they held on tight. I have been riding for 34 years now and I have 4 professional training programs under my belt including my instructors. Statistically a motorcycle has a 5 times greater chance of avoiding an accident than a car. 1)they stop better

Gas Trips The money spent at gas stations. This includes gas expenses, air freshners, filling air. Now, these expenses are hard to track and I used mint to pull the information. The money spent at gas station might have been spent on chips and gum as well, and there is no way for me to know now. And so while the gas trip number may not be exact, but it is pretty close. I always use Premium 93 grade.

Classic carsJump to Last Post 1 9 of 9 discussions (18 posts)I happen to be a guy that has spent his life enjoying classic cars. My desire started at the tender age of 12 with a 1937 Chevy pickup. You see in the state of Montana you can get a drivers license at the age bfakn.club of 12 for daylight hours to drive to school if there are not any school buses.

I was asking these question to try and see where people view points are but in seeing the responses I determined its just a bunch of hyperbole, just classic keyboard warriors not putting any thought into the situation besides superficial reasoning. claiming they are concentration camps is simply trying to instill nazi overtones to make their argument sound better. All it does it divide, take away from serious conversation, and doesnt lead to any solutions as each side hardens.

As I understand it the i3 had a lot larger depreciation than most other early electric cars. I don remember the research I did at the time tbh and my number was just spitballing, but early electric vehicles had a large depreciation due to the steep annual improvements in the tech, and on top of that, the BMW had even larger depreciation from other early electrics. In addition to that, the new i3s now are in a bit of a different competitive situation, since there is so much more competition in the new electric car space, so my guess is they have to be more competitive on price. So if you look at depreciation from a stand point of what can I get now new vs used for the same car, you totally right. From the perspective of what the 2015 cars are going for used vs what they cost in 2015, that a different story. Since we wanted to buy used at the time (though looking back I kinda sorta maybe wish we had just sprung for a model 3) the depreciation was attractive relative to other used options we were looking at

You have a shiny new car and want to program your garage door opener to it sounds easy enough. So you get out your garage door remote control and your new car’s owner’s manual for the instructions from the manufacturer to be able to program the remote control to the car.

Some of those extras were vital. The huge glass area made the air conditioning and the tinted glass essential while the power brakes, given the car’s weight, were a necessity in order to stop the Pacer without developing thighs the size of Steve Austin. All that glass added to the weight, as did all the much hyped safety measures. AMC wanted to stay ahead of the game and so incorporated a lot of features that were expected to be required over the coming few years, such as a roll bar, which gave rise to the huge, thick B pillars the ones just behind the driver’s door, and the massive doors designed to take side strengthening beams.

It doesn really cost anything more in maintenance than any other car if you look after it. Track rods, filters etc will cost you about the average but you probably pay a bit more for tyres because they put out an insane amount of torque (the m54 engine in an e46 3 series puts out 168hp at someyhing along the lines of 155ft lb of torque on a what would be an even lighter chassis than mine in your 3 series), and it rear wheel drive so your car is being pushed rather than pulled.

Not everyone is willing to do this. If you not a DIY there not really any way to own an agog BMW inexpensively unless you get extremely lucky. It a game of odds, maybe one in one hundred 3 series are as reliable as your average Lexus IS 350. I much more comfortable rolling the dice on a Lexus.

One Saturday driving my wife brand new TM3 (AWD, LR, Red, 19s, EAP) was all it took for me to come home that evening, place my order for a P3D and put the Bimmer up for sale (still miss that car, loved every minute of owning it, has always put a smile on my face it was so mechanical, and perfectly so; but, you can stop progress, and god only knows that I do not want to deal with special oil changes, or any oil changes, going to gas stations, worrying about water pumps, cooling down the turbo after hard driving even though they say you don need to but I know better and always babied my cars mechanically, valve adjustments, seals, and so forth).

«This statement is the problem. The idea that there is one definition of a car guy.» As you yourself said, not all enthusiasts are the same. I prefer to buy well built, well sorted packages that are OEM tier: Ohlins, Bilstein, etc. It why I bought an R35 GT R. And a 991 GT3. I know I know. It would be «easy» to build something faster if I were a «real» car guy right? Maybe with some Googling I could figure it out and show Porsche and Nissan engineers how it’s done? Perhaps. But suspension engineering isn my thing. And if I were to go aftermarket, I like to buy OEM grade parts with strong company backing. So far that doesn’t exist for Tesla.

Jack grabbed her ever present «camera» and fixed it floating before moving in between it and the suit. She spread her arms wide, saying «Here it is! The V 22 Catsith Egretta! Obviously it’s not completely finished, I’m waiting on some decals and have some detail parts to add but the suit is technically complete so I was planning to test it today! I always find that GBN helps show flaws in my work that wouldn’t otherwise be noticeable.» Then the energetic streamer bounced back over to her recording interface and reoriented it above her shoulder.

According to news, Fed hiring freeze with new Trump admin is temporary so hopefully in a couple years when you ready and qualified to advance to a higher GS role, the hiring freeze would be over now. Plus I understand teacher income ramp up with seniority and increase in education. So your $90k gross is just starting point and will go even higher in future.

But it is the post 1969 bikes, built after BMW moved motorcycle production from Munich to Spandau in West Berlin, that are attracting both touring riders and collectors. «Before the move to Spandau, BMW motorcycles were expensive to produce and not sold all over the world. Each bike was assembled by an individual engineer, asystem that was not financially viable andalmost bankrupted the company,» explains Peter Ardron, chairman of the UK based BMW Airhead Fellowship. «But production changed completely after that, because the plant shifted to more efficient build methods while retaining the existing standards of quality. That’s when BMW Motorrad really took off.»Ardron cites the R90S as one of the most sought after classic models, around 17,500 examples of which were built from 1973 to 1976. Featuring an 898cc engine producing 67bhp, a small «bikini» fairing and a neat «ducktail» seat, the bike had a top speed of 125mph, effortless cruising ability and distinctive looks, thanks to its «smoke effect» paintwork insilver grey or Daytona orange.
